All the best wishes!

Well, this year has gotten off on the right foot.

It seemed promising even from the first ticks, where I was not nearly drunk enough to ignore the utter lack of sentient beings around me, safe for a few people. Throughout the rest of that night, I’ve learned what family really means to me and that there’s a difference between shallow and plain stupid.

I don’t agree there’s a recession, not in the full sense of the word. It’s hard to believe that when I have to decide between two outstanding jobs. But if there were a recession, it would do us all a lot of good. Ads should get better, people that left to work abroad would come home, make some countries stronger, people would be buying more efficient cars — or stop buying cars all together —  and we’d probably have a new media distribution system, a less costly one. So things are looking up for us, the little people.

I also have the promise of great Master’s Education, in the Netherlands, which is good any way you look at it. Opera 10 is going to come out this year, and I’m really looking forward to that. I’m just getting ready to burn a DVD with Windows 7 and try it out, so that’s another whole lot of excitement right there.
I also plan to improve my Python skills this year, and to catch up on my actionscript, something I’ve neglected in the past year.

On the audio side, I already have a lot of shows booked for this next year. AC/DC, Metallica and Oasis are just a few of the big names. Can’t wait to see them, and all the others I’ve no idea I will see, yet.

And to recap on what’s been going on since christmas — yes, me with my lowercase c again — I’ve spent as much time as I could with all the great, right people and I also managed to rest. Really, deeply rest.

2008 has been a great year for me, so it will be interesting to see, next December, how 2009 will kick its ass.

Have fun!
