The recession!
Now isn’t that a tough cookie? I still don’t believe it exists, but that’s just me.
This issue will go away on its own, and by that I mean the people that really made it happen will undo everything, but let’s just make believe the recession is real for a while.
What the world needs right now is a source of money. Real money, not hedge funds or other crap of the like. That kind of money exists, but because of all the doom-mongers, the people that control it are not willing to spend it just yet. Then I walked by a church.
Churches could donate a part of their wealth to the people. Reverse the money box strategy, give away some artifacts, give away some of the land the monasteries occupy. That sort of thing. They could even offer to let others use their buildings for other purposes, like seminars, trainings on how to be a better economist, ballet lessons, whatever gets you turned on. They’d have to do it for free, we don’t want any more money going into black holes. That would be enough to get some money going around, and budge other people who have even more money to start investing again.
It would be the perfect PR for the big cross, and people might start going to church again. Even if only to get some money for smokes out of the money box.
I think it would totally make up for the dark ages.

Give away to whom? And why the artifacts?
I’m pretty sure the “domains of the church” are not like they used to be… and i do not see how allowing some people to hold classes for free in a building would result in money going around.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not crazy about the church, either, but I don’t think giving away the land would really make a difference during these times.
I would much rather see the church use its funds to give a free meal to the poor or to aid those less fortunate from physical or mental point of view. Which some of them actually do, but not brag about it

By artifacts I mean processed gold, by giving away some of its wealth, I mean helping those in need on a small or large scale. They could open up their money boxes to fix the problem of the individual and donate massive amounts of money to people that would know what to do with it.
And the classes, they wouldn’t be free. People would pay for the classes, but those that organize them would not have to pay the church for the space.
I told you people wouldn’t like this idea
